Introduction

I'm hoping to create a simple site for a simple concept—the idea that some of the best things are the result of a love to create or share.

To begin, I've posted some of my thoughts on writing fiction (in the aptly named section Writing), which you may or may not agree with or find useful. That's okay. There's more…

• The section on Writing Groups explores whether writers should participate in a writers group (they should, with caveats), and then deals with some of the logistics that entails.
• Critiques has some recommendations on how to ask for and deliver critiques of fiction.
• How best to share and work with words is the subject of the Mechanics section.
• Finally, Miscellany…for the other stuff.

In addition to the above, I am also offering a Forum for anyone that wants to have a discussion about practically anything, but especially writing fiction. I have rules and expectations for how one should participate (courteously, mostly), motivated by the idea that instead of having an email exchange people could have a conversation "in public" with others free to join, or at least read.

And for the final "Finally", I want to also offer free space to anyone who doesn't have a place on the web to post something, meant for those words you find yourself re-typing in conversations. Wouldn't it be easier to have a url you could link to and tell people "go read this"? These pages will be "hidden" from general traffic to this site by default, but they can also be made a part if someone desires to do so.
